I am calling on the Filipino youth to refuse to bite the same old banana.

The mudslinging between and among national candidates in the last two weeks has shown how disturbing and dirty traditional politics has become in this country. Traditional politicians have once again been trapped in the dirty game of courting votes by hurling personal attacks against opponents. While this must have proven to be effective in some cases, it certainly has not helped improve the political nor economic situation of the Philippines.

Bangon Pilipinas calls on the youth sector to:

  1. Seriously take their role in this election. This could just be a defining moment for this sector which comprises almost 1/3 of the Philippine population and more than 1/2 of the voting population.
  2. Examine the truth behind every character assassination. Try to determine whether the accusations were true or not. Regardless of its truth or falsity, determine also the persons and motives behind the attack.
  3. Exclude in their list of choices traditional politicians who muddle in mudslinging. This is a sign already how low they would bow or how dirty they would play in order to get themselves into position of power. Vote out traditional politics! Vote for new politics!
  4. Be vigilant in protecting the sanctity of their votes.

Nagpapasalamat din kami sa lahat ng kabataang sumama sa human chain at nagpakita ng paninindigan para sa tunay na pagbabago! Nakikinig ang Bangon Pilipinas sa inyong tinig.

Magandang hapon!

GOD bless the Philippines!

Bangon Kabataan to deliver biggest gathering to Bro Eddie

“It shall be unprecedented.”

Bangon Kabataan (BK) chairman Emil Galang guaranteed that May 1 shall mark the “biggest youth gathering ever assembled for one presidential candidate in the history of the Philippines."

Galang vowed that Filipinos will see the real survey on Saturday when hundreds and thousands of volunteers gather together to show their unwavering support for Villanueva and his party-mates.

The youth event that will start with a human chain at 3PM along Roxas Blvd in Manila will culminate in a prayer rally and “Concert for CHANGE” (Credible, Honest, Accurate, Non-partisan, Gold-Goon-and-Gun-free Elections) at the Luneta Rizal Park that will feature volunteer artists such asGary Valenciano, Gloc-9, Jun Polistico, Reuben Laurente, Carla Martinez, Donita Rose and many more.

Asked why they are supporting Villanueva, Galang said that among all the presidential aspirants, Bro. Eddie is the only one who has the credibility to make a commitment to six years of zero-corruption in government.

“By track record, only Bro Eddie can have the audacity to make such a promise and actually fulfill it because he is not beholden to anyone except God and the Filipino people,” he added.

BK will assemble a youth human chain that will gather Bangon Pilipinas Party (BPP) presidential bet Bro. Eddie Villanueva’s youth volunteers and supporters from the National Capital Region and nearby provinces in a festive declaration of unshakable support to Villanueva, his running-mate Perfecto “Jun” Yasay and the Party’s APPOINT-PV senatorial slate composed of Alonto Zafrullah, Papin Imelda, Paredes Zosimo Jesus, Ocampo Ramoncito, Inocencio Kata, Nikabulin Count Habib Adz, Tinsay Alex, Princesa Reynaldo and Virgines Israel.

Various campus organizations, fraternities, people’s organizations, multi-sectoral groups as well as several faith-based groups have confirmed their attendance at the event.

Arise against Ampatuan case dismissal, Bro. Eddie calls on Filipinos

Don’t allow injustice to thrive.

Bangon Pilipinas made this call as it asked all Filipinos to arise in protest over the precipitate dismissal of the charges against Gov. Zaldy Ampatuan and his son Mamasapano Mayor Datu Akmad Ampatuan.

Calling the move by Justice Secretary Alberto Agra a judicial sacrilege, Bangon Pilipinas presidential candidate Bro. Eddie Villanueva branded the act as mass murder twice over.“Bangon Pilipinas and I call on all good men and women of the land to arise in protest over the decision Secretary Agra. It is the height of disrespect for the judicial system,” said Bangon Pilipinas presidential candidate Bro. Eddie Villanueva.

At the same time, Bangon Pilipinas praised State Prosecutors Claro Arellano and Richard Fadullon for coming forward with the truth. "The task of the Secretary of Justice is to review the findings of the first-line investigating prosecutors; unless a finding has been made the reviewing  authority must respect the process and await such findings," Bangon Pilipinas vice-presidential candidate Perfecto Yasay said. Yasay himself is an accomplished lawyer.

Yasay called on Agra to resign “if he has an iota of decency left” after his abominable act.If Agra refuses to resign, he said, his superior should muster the honesty to fire him.

“We must be on the lookout. We must bear in mind that there were 57 people, 31 of whom were members of the media who were mercilessly killed with utmost impunity in that massacre,” he said.

Yasay added that the government should be very careful when dealing with these kinds of decisions as they might face an angry mob seeking justice for their countrymen.

“Hindi lang pamilya at kamag-anak ang magiging kalaban nila sa mga ganitong pagkakataon kundi ang mga taong naghahanap ng katarungan para sa kanilang kababayan na nagawan ng karumaldumal na krimen,” Yasay added.

Broadcast journalists Alex Tinsay and Kata Inocencio, who are both running as senators under Bangon Pilipinas, also condemned the decision of Agra and joined fellow journalists in keeping a sharp eye on the case.

BRO. EDDIE SPENDS TIME WITH SECTORAL BAILIWICKS IN VOTE-RICH CAVITE

Vote-rich Cavite is the starting point of the last stretch of Bangon Pilipinas’ campaign sorties.

Bro. Eddie Villanueva, presidential candidate of Bangon Pilipinas, spent an entire day with his sectoral bailiwicks in Cavite.

“The way we do it is to hit two birds with one stone. We are here to consolidate our strong support from our ka-Bangons in Cavite. At the same time, we want to make sure that we continue our ongoing dialogues with our sectoral bailiwicks, which are farmers and fisherfolks,” Villanueva said in a statement.

Cavite is considered one of the top three vote-rich provinces in the country with 1.6 million registered voters.

It is also home to thousands of farmers and fishermen as the province remains primarily agricultural. Fishing also remains a major source of livelihood.

At present there are 14 active fisherfolks’ associations in the province that work with the goal of advancing the welfare of fishermen.

“We recognize the importance of geographical bailiwicks. In fact, Bangon Pilipinas has always been proud that Mindanao is its bailiwick. But we also give the highest priority to sectoral bailiwicks. It is the sectors who know their specific needs and therefore, they would carefully vet the platform of all candidates and choose the ones who could best respond to their sectors’ needs,” Villanueva explained.
