“A supporter of genuine change has volunteered to put up a poster of Bangon Pilipinas’ presidential candidate Bro. Eddie Villanueva. Now, this poster advocating for change is being used to threaten Bro. Eddie of disqualification. Why zero in on this poster? Who is afraid of change?, asked Atty. Lyndon Cana, Bangon Pilipinas National Campaign Manager.

In several news stories on Tuesday, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) reportedly ordered Villanueva to remove his alleged illegal billboard. For this billboard, Villanueva may have to face disqualification, reports said. However, as of press time, no official communication from the Comelec on this matter has been transmitted to Bangon Pilipinas.

Cana said that Comelec rules are not being applied fairly among all candidates. Along EDSA and other major thoroughfares which are not designated common poster areas, campaign materials of other candidates have been abounding with no one from the Comelec questioning, he observed.

Similarly, in a statement, Bangon Pilipinas Secretary-General, Atty. Ted Pascua said that the party will comply with the rules on campaign posters as well as all rules and regulations related to the elections. A big billboard of Villanueva in Quiapo was already dismantled the first time that the Comelec warned of billboards beyond the requisites allowed, he said.

The public health sector is already in comatose and would need a new dose of life, Bangon Pilipinas standard bearer Bro Eddie Villanueva said Tuesday.

He said that a Bangon Pilipinas administration would commit itself to work for the establishment of a tertiary hospital in every province.

“The public health sector is already in the ICU (intensive care unit) and must be given a shot for it to come alive. My personal vision is to establish a tertiary public hospital in every province in the country to bring the best health care to those who need it the most," Villanueva said.

A tertiary hospital is defined as a large major hospital that offers a full complement of services which includes pediatrics, general medicine, and the different branches of surgery.

“Health is one of the top agenda of the Bangon Pilipinas Party. We will prioritize increasing the budget for the public health sector by following the ideal budget allocation set by the World Health Organization (WHO) to the equivalent of six percent of the country’s gross domestic product," Villanueva explained, adding it is the responsibility of the government to bring the very best of health care to people across the country.

Bro. Eddie: Emilia Boncodin an example to government officials and employees

Bangon Pilipinas presidential candidate Bro. Eddie Villanueva called on all government officials and employees to follow the example of former Budget Secretary Emilia Boncodin who lived a life of simplicity and quiet dedication to public service.

“Former Sec. Boncodin served the people with utmost diligence and competence. She was never involved in any kind of scandal. Yet she lived a simple life not wanting power or riches, a true public servant,” he said.

Villanueva added that the former Budget secretary exemplified the kind of public service Bangon Pilipinas strives to engender not as an exemption but as a rule in public service.

Boncodin passed away Monday due to cardiac arrest. She was 55.

“During her time in Malacanang and even up to her death, Sec. Boncodin and her family lived a simple life in a simple house. That is the kind of civil servants we must have, in contrast to the officials we now have. She exemplified a life so worthy of emulation by every public servant,” Villanueva added.

BRO EDDIE BRINGS RAINS, LITERALLY AND FIGURATIVELY

Baliuag, Bulacan - In this time of El Niño's devastating effects on the country, Bro. Eddie Villanueva, presidential candidate of Bangon Pilipinas Party, literally and figuratively brings with him rains of blessings wherever he goes.

In the middle of Villanueva's campaign sortie in Bulacan on Saturday, rains poured in this otherwise dry province in Central Luzon, the country's grain capital. Farmers have been waiting for months for the rains to come to save their crops.

Villanueva's sortie also becomes historical as it is the longest motorcade in Bulacan's history.

Villanueva is joined by his runningmate, Perefecto Yasay, and Bangon Pilipinas' senatorial slate collectively called APPOINT PV, each letter representing the first letter of their surnames: Zafrullah Alonto, Imelda Papin, Jesus Paredes, Ramoncito Ocampo, Kata Inocencio, Count Habib Adz Nikabulin, Alex Tinsay, Reynaldo Princesa, and Israel Virgines.

In Bro. Eddie's sortie in Davao City last week, rains also poured to the delight of the farmers. An agricultural economy, Davao farmers have prayed for the rains to shower their crops.

Atty. Lyndon Caña, Bangon Pilipinas National Campaign Manager, said, "It is as if God is showing us that Bro. Eddie brings times of refreshment in the country. Where there is drought, he brings rains. Where there is desperation, he brings hope. Where there is old politics, he brings new politics."

In Bulacan, people on the streets chanted "Bro. Eddie, Tunay na Bulakenyo!" and "Bro. Eddie, Dangal ng Bulacan."

Bulacan is home to beloved national heroes such as the young hero of Tirad Pass, Gregorio del Pilar.
